My name is Karen Lewis and I started reading and writing—scribbling—at age 5. My first poem was a haiku about a horse. I lead workshops with California Poets in the Schools, the Arts Council of Mendocino County, and in community settings. After detours through UCLA and Mount Holyoke College, I earned my BA in Urban Studies from Stanford, and an MFA from Antioch – Los Angeles. One of my favorite places to be is lost in the stacks, searching for one call sign but finding another book (or two or ten). Another passion is travel.
