My name is Karen Lewis and I started reading and scribbling at age 5. My first poem was a haiku about a horse. I lead workshops with California Poets in the Schools, the Arts Council of Mendocino County, and in community settings. After detours through UCLA and Mount Holyoke College, I earned my BA in Urban Studies from Stanford, and an MFA from Antioch – Los Angeles. One of my favorite places to be is lost a labyrinth of library stacks, searching for one call sign but finding another book (or two, or ten). Another passion is travel.
